You’re bent to the side, huh?

Oh, boy!

Maybe you helped a friend move a sleeper sofa up the stairs yesterday.

Maybe you just reached down to pick something up.

Maybe you’re not even sure WHAT you did.

Whatever went wrong, you woke up and now you can’t stand up straight.

Being bent out of shape because of pain is called ANTALGIA. That is Latin. You don’t really need to know that word, but there it is.



Generally speaking, your body will try to get into a posture that it is able to function in. That usually means that the posture that lets you walk around and go through your day with the least amount of pain will be the posture your body settles into while you are experiencing your spinal injury. Sometimes muscle spasms are the main cause, sometimes it is a swollen and inflamed disc causing everything to tilt away, and other times it’s something else or a combination of things.

If you look in the mirror and you are bent to the side at the low back, or if you can’t even fully stand up straight, then you are probably someone who would benefit from chiropractic care. If you’ve never tried a chiropractor before, then give it a shot. After all, your spine is pretty important.
